An illuminating new tool against Hawaii's coqui frogs

Michael Shiroma has developed a new technique to spot coqui frogs at night using a UV flashlight, which has allowed him to capture over 1,800 frogs since February 2026 and has been praised by the State Department of Agriculture and Biosecurity.
